Interviews

Neil Harris spoke at Cardiff City Stadium following the Bluebirds’ 2-2 draw with Carlisle United in the Emirates FA Cup on Saturday afternoon.

“I couldn’t believe we were 2-0 down at half-time because we controlled the first-half,” began Neil following the final whistle. “The second goal was a bit of a killer blow and we gave ourselves a mountain to climb in an FA Cup tie that ultimately we should win.

“I said to the boys at half-time that I wasn’t panicked, I was disappointed with being behind - but if we played with a bit more tempo and were a bit more repetitive with what we do, chances would come our way.

“After scoring two early second-half goals and being so on top for so long, it was disappointing not to get a third and fourth goal.”

The Gaffer went on to praise scorers Callum Paterson Gavin Whyte and Josh Murphy for his creativity in the second half.

“I’m really pleased for Gavin [Whyte] and Callum [Paterson] to get on the score-sheet and Josh [Murphy] gave us some of the best moments in the game with his brightness and quality.

“I’m pleased to still be in the FA Cup after being two goals down, but we should have won the game.”
