Gavin Ward joined Cardiff City as Interim First Team Goalkeeping Coach in September 2024.

Following a playing career which spanned over 20 years – including a four-year spell as a Bluebird between 1989-1993 – Gavin has gained a wealth of experience coaching across the EFL, working for clubs such as Shrewsbury Town and Nottingham Forest. In his most recent position at Queens Park Rangers, Ward spent over eight years at Loftus Road, having initially joined the backroom staff of fellow former Cardiff City player Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink in January 2016.
