Wintle pre-Ipswich Town | We're looking forward to it
Ryan Wintle spoke to the press ahead of our Sky Bet Championship fixture against Ipswich Town on Saturday afternoon.
Kieran McKenna’s side are currently second in the table, three points behind league-leaders Leicester City.
The side are the most in-form team in the division, having won all of their previous six fixtures.
“At their place, we were 2-0 up and lost 3-2, we were unlucky to lose that day,” Ryan began. “They will look at our form and see that it’s not going to be easy coming here. We’ll put a game to them and hopefully, we can beat them. Let’s see.
“There’s been a few results like that. There have been three or four games where we probably should have won. If we had, then we’d be in the Play-Offs, but you can’t think like that. It’s about looking forward now and continuing to get better.”
The Bluebirds head into Saturday’s fixture with three consecutive victories, whilst also keeping four clean sheets in the last five fixtures.
Ryan continued: “We’ve got a good squad of players. We’ve got players who have been promoted from the Championship and players who have been in a dogfight in the Championship. We can always use those experiences.
“We said at the start of the season that we’ve got enough in this changing room to definitely be in the top half. That’s just where we’re aiming and hopefully, we can finish there.”
A 1-0 victory over Huddersfield Town in midweek saw City rise to tenth in the table, three points behind Preston North End in ninth.
Famara Diédhiou’s first goal for the Club, a sweeping first-half strike, was enough to claim all three points.
“It’ll be a different game against Ipswich,” Ryan added. “It will probably a bit more frantic if anything and we’ve got nothing to lose now.
“Hopefully, we can just attack them as much as they’re going to attack us and come out the right side of it.”
