Cardiff City forward Danny Ward spoke to Sky Sports immediately following the 1-0 victory over Bristol City at Ashton Gate.
The Bluebirds held strong throughout the match - with the winning moment finally coming five minutes from time when substitutes combined. Lee Tomlin feeding Ward, who fired past Robins goalkeeper Daniel Bentley to secure City’s third win from four matches since returning to action.
“We did well today,” Ward stated. “It was a bit of a slow start but being hard to beat gives us a boost and foundation to kick on. The lads who came on obviously helped loads.
“It is nice to be back out there. It was my first time involved since we came back from lockdown.
“It was nice to comeback with a goal.”
The Bluebirds sit sixth in the Sky Bet Championship & in the final play-off spot with five matches remaining. City’s No.23 insists they’re taking nothing for granted at this stage.
“At this time in the season, even though it is a cliché, you do take every game as it comes.
“There is no let up. The matches are coming thick and fast and we’ve got to keep at it.”
