Vontae Daley-Campbell agrees terms with City
We are delighted to announce the signing of right-back Vontae Daley-Campbell, subject to clearance.
The 21-year-old defender will join the Bluebirds on a three-year deal from July 1st, 2022.
Daley-Campbell started his youth career with Arsenal, before joining Leicester City in 2019. Vontae went on to make three appearances for their First Team squad before a loan spell with Dundee in the Scottish Premiership during the second half of the 2021/22 season, playing ten times.
He is the sixth new player to agree terms with Cardiff City ahead of the 2022/23 season, with Ebou Adams, Jak Alnwick, Ollie Tanner, Jamilu Collins and Callum O'Dowda earlier this summer putting pen-to-paper on agreements with the Club.
Our newest Bluebird gave his thoughts to Cardiff City TV, saying: “I got a call from my agent saying that Cardiff City were interested and I just knew that it was a Club I wanted to go to, so I kept in contact, managed to sort something out and I’m happy about it.
“You can expect a hard-working full-back who likes to get forward a lot and wants to assist as many goals as he can.
"I can’t wait to play in front of the fans and really try my hardest for the team.”
Steve Morison added: "We're really excited. We wanted lots of options and he's a really interesting young player.
"He comes with really good pedigree. He needs to make the most of his attributes and hopefully we can help him do that.
"Every single person who has walked through the door wants to be a part of it. It's going to go a long way for us."
Welcome to the Welsh capital, Vontae!
