U21 Match Preview | Colchester United vs. Cardiff City

Cardiff City's U21 travel to face the U's on Friday afternoon - KO at 12pm.

The young Bluebirds will be looking to return to winning ways following their defeat against Queens Park Rangers earlier this week.

Friday’s fixture comes at the end of a busy week for City, with Friday afternoon's fixture providing another good opportunity for the young Bluebirds to experience the challenges of a two-match week, as they continue their development within the Club's Academy system.

Colchester United are currently in 9th place on the PDL South table, having picked up 14 points from 13 matches played so far this season.

Most recently falling to a 4-2 defeat against Ipswich Town, The U's most recently won in November, when they defeated Watford 6-0 away from home. 

The last time City face Colchester was in October 2022, when the two sides faced off at CCS. Starting with a side that was bolstered by several First Team players, the Bluebirds took all three points as they defeated the U's 4-1 on home ground, with Kion Etete, Gavin Whyte, Jaden Philogene and Ollie Tanner all on the scoresheet for the hosts.
