U21 Match Preview | Cardiff City vs. Charlton Athletic
Cardiff City's U21 side are back in Leckwith for Tuesday afternoon's match against the Addicks - 2pm KO.
The young Bluebirds played at Cardiff International Sports Stadium last week, defeating PDL South leaders Millwall in a thrilling 4-2 home victory.
Fielding a starting eleven which featured several First Team players, Mark Harris opened the scoring early on with a terrific solo effort.
With the Lions equalising before half-time, Cameron Antwi struck back less than a minute after the interval, netting from over 25 yards with a well-weighted shot over the 'keeper, who was caught well off his line.
Substitute Owen Pritchard added a third goal with just over 20 minutes remaining, with a great right-footed effort from the edge of the area. Though the visitors responded by reducing the lead, Prtichard played through teammate Chanka Zimba beautifully for the forward to restore the two-goal advantage with a few minutes left on the clock.
Now looking to build upon their most recent performance, the Addicks will pose a new challenge for the young Bluebirds on Tuesday afternoon.
In sixth place on the PDL South table with 26 points earned from 19 matches played, Charlton Athletic will arrive in Leckwith having been unbeaten in three matches.
Recently drawing against both Colchester United and Millwall, Charlton won their most recent encounter 6-1 against Watford, defeating the Hornets convincingly at home on Monday, February 20th.
In a dominant display, Terell Thomas, Daniel Kanu, Tyreece Campbell, Jeremy Santos, Charles Clayden and Tolu Ladapo found themselves on the scoresheet as they defeated Watford, who are currently at the bottom of the table.
