U21 Match Preview | Bristol City vs. Cardiff City
Cardiff City's U21 side kick off their first of two fixtures this week by heading to face Severnside rivals Bristol City on Monday afternoon - 1pm KO.
The young Bluebirds will be looking to bounce back to winning ways following a defeat at home against QPR last time out.
During that match, City were unfortunate not to go in ahead at the break, following a solid display that saw them fall just short of converting their chances in Leckwith.
The visitors scored two unanswered goals in the second half, with the responding City subs attempting to take the game back to their opponents but not quite manage to get on the scoresheet.
With several of City's regular U21 players now out on loan and earning crucial experience at senior level around the country, Monday's match will be the start of a good test for the younger Bluebirds who are looking to break through into the older Academy side over the next few months and into next season.
Bristol City are currently in seventh place on the PDL South table, with 18 points earned from 16 matches played.
With one win from their five most recent league matches, the Robins are a side looking for a return to better form, having also been recently knocked out of the Premier League Cup at the group stage of the competition.
