U21 | Finlay Johnson signs for City

Striker Finlay Johnson has joined Cardiff City's U21 side, putting pen-to-paper on a one-year deal.

Ahead of the upcoming 2023/24 season, the forward links up with the young Bluebirds as part of Darren Purse's squad within the Academy set-up.

Upon signing his contract, Finlay said: "I'm buzzing to have signed, and can't wait to get started. It's been a long journey to getting the deal over the line, but I'm excited to get started and settled with the team.

"I'm definitely a player who likes to run in behind and finish. I can score goals and want to help the boys out, getting some assists as well. Hopefully I'll bring a dynamic to the side where I can really stretch teams and be a nuisance.

"I've seen the boys in the Academy progressing with some of them working with the First Team as well, like Xavier Benjamin being with them in Portugal now. It's exciting to see and a good reason to push on with the boys, with the dream of making my First Team debut as well."
