REACTION | DARREN PURSE
Reflecting on the victory, U21 head coach Darren Purse said: "It was one of our best performances of the season. If you look at the possession, they had a bit more than we did and their squad had a four or five players who had been on the bench for their First Team, so it was a tough game, but to go away against a club like Brentford and get the win was top class. The way we killed the game at the end to maintain the 1-0 win, it was a great performance and the boys deserve a lot of credit.
"I was pleased for Tanatswa to get his goal. He came off the bench and made a big impact, scoring the winner, which is testament to the strength in depth that we have. We know that we have boys on the bench who can come on and win the game for us, which is a huge positive."
MATCH SUMMARY
The Bluebirds claimed another three points in the PDL with a hard-fought victory over Brentford.
City named a strong starting XI including David Turnbull, Cian Ashford and Michael Reindorf.
All three went close to giving the Bluebirds the lead, but were denied by the Brentford goalkeeper.
In a fine away performance, the deadlock was broken late-on, as substitute Tanatswa Nyakuhwa cut inside from the left and found the bottom corner, sealing another win for Darren Purse's side.
