Cardiff City’s U18 side make the trip to Swansea City U18 in the PDL Cup on Saturday with an 11am kick-off at Landore Training Centre.
The Bluebirds will aim to continue their 100% winning run in the competition following their 5-0 victory over Bristol City and 4-0 win against Watford.
With nine goals and two clean sheets, City currently sit at the summit of Group A - three points ahead of the second-place Hornets with Swansea City bottom on zero points.
The youngsters are also on a three-game winning run in the Professional Development League in which they dispatched of the Swans with a 2-0 away victory on November 6th. Ipswich Town and Queen Park Rangers were the other sides who suffered defeats, 6-1 and 4-0 respectively.
Opportunities for U16 and U15 players have arisen in the U18 team this season with some likely to feature on Saturday, and speaking recently, Coach Dane Facey said: "I've worked with these players everyday. You know what they're capable of and they're more than capable of flourishing at this environment as much as they do the U16s.
"Obviously, there are physical differences but the most important part is seeing if they can influence the game and play to the style that we want to play. We've got lots of good players in the Academy that we're excited about.
"Putting them out there at U18 level and U23 level is something we're keen to do in the future. I think they have showed they can take that opportunity."
