U18 Match Preview | Charlton Athletic vs. Cardiff City
After last weekend’s postponed fixture, Cardiff City's U18 side continue their PDL campaign with a game against the Addicks at the Charlton Athletic Football Club Youth Academy – Kick-off at 1pm.
This fixture may prove pivotal in who finishes on top of the table come the end of the season.
Coming into this fixture, City sit in third place on 27 points, while the Addicks sit top of the pile on 29 points. However, the young Bluebirds have two games in hand over Saturday’s opponents.
After two disappointing defeats, the Bluebirds returned to winning ways in fine fashion with a 4-1 victory over Watford.
Two first half goals from Lewys Ware along with two goals for top scorer Tanatswa Nyakuhwa sealed a comprehensive victory for Steve Jenkins’ side.
While they may sit on top of the table, Charlton come into this one off the back of a 2-0 defeat to Millwall.
Goals from Laquay Coleman and Henry Hearn for the Lions forced Chartlon to their third defeat of the season.
The meeting also pits the most prolific attack in the league against the meanest defence in the PDL South.
Jason Pearce’s side have scored 45 goals in 14 games this season, while Jenkins’ young Bluebirds have conceded 15 goals in 12 games.
