U18 Match Preview | Cardiff City vs. Ipswich Town
Cardiff City’s U18 side return to the Professional Development League on Saturday (04/03), hosting Ipswich Town at Cardiff International Sports Campus – 11am kick-off.
The young Bluebirds return to the capital as they aim to pick up where they left off last week.
Last Saturday was very successful for Steve Jenkins’ side, as they downed Swansea City 4-1 away from home. After going behind, the Bluebirds responded in magnificent fashion. Tanatswa Nyakuhwa scoring a hat-trick, along with one goal for Japhet Matondo. With players also returning from representing Wales U17 in the last game, the weekend provides a good opportunity for the squad to kick on in their quest for league glory.
The result still leaves City in third place in the PDL South and nine points behind leaders Millwall, but Jenks’ side do have a game in hand over the Lions.
This weekend sees the Tractor Boys travel to Cardiff International Sports Campus to take on the Bluebirds. They currently sit in eighth place in the table, having picked up 23 points in their 16 games so far this season. They come into this game following a 2-0 defeat at home to second placed Charlton Athletic.
Good luck this weekend, Bluebirds!
