U18 Match Preview | Barnsley vs. Cardiff City

City’s U18 side travel to Barnsley in the Professional Development League at Barnsley Training Complex on Saturday – 2pm kick-off.

The Tykes currently sit second in Professional Development League Group North, with five losses, 11 wins and four draws to date – one point separates them from first place Sheffield United, who have two matches in hand.

Meanwhile, the Bluebirds are fifth in Group South and seven points off fourth place Millwall, with a game in hand, and a victory in South Yorkshire would help their push to move further up the table.

Barnsley are on a two-match winning streak having defeated Sheffield Wednesday and Charlton Athletic, which followed a defeat at Hull City, though City will aim to end their recent run.

The Bluebirds will be looking to build on their impressive 5-1 victory over Crewe Alexandra last time out, going into the encounter with confidence having netted 41 goals in 19 games.
