Cardiff City's U18 side travel to face the U's on Saturday morning - 11am KO.

The young Bluebirds are looking to return to winning ways in the PDL, where they currently sit in third place on the South division league table.

“Saturday will be the third game of the week for some of the lads, so we’ve factored that into our preparation and made sure that we use the whole squad, but also rest and recover properly for what is a long trip. 

"We have prepared them slightly differently, and we’ve almost had two groups in training this week with our second-year scholars training all week, and our first years have had a modified plan. 

"It’s been a bit of a challenge managing that, but the most important thing is to make sure each individual player gets what they need. We’re on track to be able to do that, and hopefully that will put us in good stead for a positive performance.

“It’s been a positive start on the whole. We assess the performance of the group in two ways. It’s firstly the performance in-game, and how it aligns with our game model and the way we want to play. 

"Then, it’s always important to look at the result in terms of 'are we performing well on the whole?'. I feel the boys have been perfoming well so far; they’ve ticked a lot of boxes in relation to those two things, and it’s all about trying to make sure the boys are better each game.”
