David Turnbull spoke to the Press after Tuesday evening’s victory over Portsmouth.

The City midfielder impressed with his performance, while the Bluebirds' goals came through a Regan Poole own goal and Callum Robinson's close-range strike.

“I’m delighted to be back and playing my part," David began. "It’s been great playing with Alex [Robertson]. We both know each other as players, try to link up as much as we can and I think we’re feeding off of each other.

“We all link up well in midfield. We know how each other play, we’re all really good technically on the ball. I’d say we’re all on the same wavelength at the moment and it’s all clicking, so long may it continue.”

During Saturday's win over Plymouth Argyle, Turnbull went close to netting his first goal for the Club, while having some dangerous efforts from distance against Portsmouth.

David continued: “I think the goal is coming, I maybe tried a little too hard for it tonight, but the keeper pulled off a couple of good saves.

"I’m always trying to get as many of them as I can and once I get one, I’m sure more will come.”

Cardiff City celebrate

After winning the last three home matches, City's next fixture is away to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday afternoon.

"Momentum is very important," David added. "When you have a bit of a losing streak, it’s hard to come back from, but you just need to keep fighting and get the wins.

“We can try and shoot up the table as quick as we can and get ourselves up there.

"I know I can play at this level. I know I can impact games, and I just hope for many more to come, I’m enjoying every minute.”
