Cardiff City goalkeeper Alex Smithies spoke with the press following the 2-1 victory over Derby County on Tuesday evening.
“We’re back on track tonight,” Alex explained. “It is in our hands. We’re excited for the next two games.
“This team keeps fighting. The previous two results hadn't gone our way but I think the spirit showed tonight.
“We dug in and got the three points we needed.”
The Bluebirds sit in sixth place in the Sky Bet Championship with matches against Middlesbrough (A) and Hull City (H) remaining.
“I hope the twists and turns happen for other teams and not us because it is in our hands now," Alex added. "We’ve put ourselves in a strong position.
“We’ll enjoy the winning feeling tonight but as of tomorrow we’re firmly focused on the weekend.
“We’ve got that feel good factor again and we’re excited to go into these next two games knowing that two wins and we’ve got that play-off spot that we want."
