Upon signing for the Club, Scarlett said: “I’m really pleased to sign for Cardiff City. It’s a great new chapter for me and my entry into Women’s football. I’ve been training with the girls and they’ve all been really welcoming. The intensity of training is always there, so it’s a great challenge for me.

“I already knew that the Club were very successful in the Adran Premier, have consistently won cups and have been playing in the Champions League, so I can see that this is going to be a great place for me.

“Cardiff City is a great Club to push you to improve and make you the best player that you can be. They have a history of bringing through young players, which attracted me to the Club.”

Head coach Darbyshire added: “Scarlett is a very exciting young player. She has settled in really well since she started training with us. We’ll use the next few weeks and months to build on that and give her opportunities when we can. We’re excited about her future with us.

“A big part of our DNA is bringing through young players and improving their skillsets, this is no different. We can see a bright future for Scarlett; if she works hard and takes on information to improve her game, she has a really good opportunity to become a key player for us and stand out in the league.

“We have got a blend of youth and experience in our squad. I think she’ll learn a lot from the squad, whether that be our experienced players or the young ones who have been through her journey. This is a transfer that we’re aiming to build a Senior Team player and someone who can make a big impact going forward.”
