Sabri pre-Burnley | We are going to try to enjoy ourselves
Ahead of Monday's trip to face Burnley at Turf Moor, on Friday morning Sabri Lamouchi spoke to the press.
With City's Sky Bet Championship status for next season confirmed last week, Sabri shared his thoughts on meeting the division winners on the final day of the 2022/23 season.
“We will try to enjoy it, because we know where we’re going to play,” Sabri began. “They won the league, they’re the best team in the league, and we wish them the best for next season.
“For us, we are going there to try to enjoy ourselves, because it’s absolutely been a difficult season for all of us; the fans, club, staff and players. We want to try to do our best for the last one.
“We are safe, we made it, and the Club will play in the Championship next season. We have to work from now to not repeat the same mistakes next season, and avoid a repeat of this season.
“It was close for us, and really hard, but we did it.”
Sabri continued by giving an injury update before the Bluebirds head to Lancashire for the bank holiday clash against the Clarets.
“Kion Etete is a big doubt for the weekend," said Lamouchi. "As is the captain, Joe Ralls. Callum O’Dowda is recovering from his concussion, and Cédric Kipré will also not be playing as he’s having an operation. He's been a rock for us at the back this season, so I'd like to thank him for his hard work for the Club.”
