Robinson post-Swansea City | A huge result

Callum Robinson
Callum Robinson spoke to the media after his stunning derby day brace as Cardiff City triumphed 3-0 over Swansea City.

The City striker netted two fine strikes, which proved to be crucial in the Bluebirds' victory.

“It's definitely my best game since I’ve been at Cardiff City," Callum began. "To beat them 3-0 like that at home in front of our supporters, what a day.”

“I just thought, try and get it back across, obviously it was on the volley. Then the second one, I knew my angles around the box, and I knew I was going to score once I went through.

“I’m not sure what the time difference is, but we get the second quite quickly after and then it was tough for them. That was a big result for us to beat them back at home, that’s what it’s about. Winning 3-0, it put a smile on my face.”

Robinson was full of praise for his teammates, commending their effort throughout the contest.

“Every player today, to a man, I don’t think there’s one player that left the pitch who didn’t give their all. Everyone can leave this stadium in a positive mindset, because everyone put a great shift in.

“I’m happy to get to double figures, but I want to keep pushing now, keep getting more goals. We still need to pick up more points. When you’re scoring, you’re winning and you’re up there, that is definitely more enjoyable.

"Hopefully we can kick on like we did last year when we beat them. I think we went four wins on the bounce after that. We need to keep our feet on the ground. We’re still down there, we’re still in a fight, but it was a good day.

“I think with the ability that we’ve got in the team, we should definitely be higher up in the league, and we proved that today. I’ll just keep my head down, keep scoring goals, and good things happen if you’re playing week in, week out—and that’s what I want to do."
