Robinson post-Hertha BSC | We're all ready
Callum Robinson spoke to Cardiff City TV after netting a late leveller in a 1-1 draw with Hertha Berlin, his second strike on our Austrian tour.
"I've really enjoyed it." Callum began. "With these trips as well, it's good to bring everyone together on and off the pitch with certain activities and stuff like that. So, it's been a good week.
"I think all three games were really tough. Of course, with the weather and altitude and stuff, it's tough, so we'll be a lot fitter from it.
"We know it's only pre-season, but you still want to win these games, or not lose these games. We've come out here, one win, two draws, and I know obviously it's not for points, but it's always nice not to lose a game of football.
"But, let's not get it twisted - these have been some good, good sides over here, some quality players. And as I've said, it doesn't help with how the conditions are, but I think we've dealt with it well."
The attacker netted the Bluebirds' third goal against Hamburger SV before stabbing home an equaliser tonight, with all eyes now on the upcoming Championship campaign.
He continued: "It's always good getting getting goals or assists. That's what we get paid to do. I really enjoyed that goal [against Hamburg]. They were a tough opposition as well; I thought the lads did great in that game.
"I think, for me, goals like tonight are the best goals. I enjoy those goals the most, just around the box. Throughout my career I've had a few of them, especially when you're in that nine position - that's your job.
"I came on tonight as a nine, and you've got to get yourself in the box. I just went to follow in a rebound, it sort of ricocheted and then I got my foot on it and it went in the back of the net.
"Obviously, personally, last year wasn't a great season for me, but I've been working hard in the off-season and working really hard in pre-season. I'm hungry, and I know that the lads are all hungry now for the start of the season.
"You get to a point in pre-season where you do all your games and everyone's fit and ready to go, and we're slowly getting to that point now. We've got two more games when we get back, and I think we'll we'll all be ready - all fit, firing and ready to go."
