The Bluebirds head into the fixture on a five-match unbeaten run in all competitions, having picked up six points in four league matches, as well as defeating Sheffield United in the Emirates FA Cup.

“I’m really excited," Omer began. "I know what it means to everyone involved with the Club. So many people that I meet speak to me about the importance of this game and now we’ve reached the game, we’re ready to go at the weekend for a fixture that we’re really looking forward to.

“The stadium is going to be full, there’s going to be great support from our fans towards our players. That will make it difficult for Swansea and create a real atmosphere that will be hard to ignore.

"We drew to them away from home and showed how important the game is to us. This weekend, we’ll be looking to show that importance again. I can only go on what I know and what I’ve seen, but I know how important it is.

“The history of the two clubs is there for everyone to see, as well as the importance of the win. We know how important it is for the fans. It’s about how you make people feel and we know we’ve got a job to do in that respect. How it can make people feel is probably more important than anything else.

"Against Swansea on Saturday, this whole stadium will be rocking and it will bring a sense of togetherness. These moments can really help to steer where you are in the second half of the season."

In midweek, City claimed a 1-1 draw against Watford at Cardiff City Stadium, in which Cian Ashford got on the scoresheet.

Omer continued: “The squad is in a good place. There is a good togetherness, there’s a good work ethic and intensity level. We’ve been performing well. We’ll be taking that into this game and hopefully we’ll be even better than we have been.

“Something that I’ve mentioned to the boys is that we want everyone on the pitch. One less player is one more problem. We’re aware of that and we’ll be sensible. We’ll be approaching the game to win, to make it difficult for the opposition and that’s what we’ll be looking to do on Saturday."

Our opponents this Saturday recorded a 1-1 draw against West Bromwich Albion in their last league fixture, before bowing out of the Emirates FA Cup with a 3-0 defeat to Southampton.

“Swansea have got a distinct way of playing. They’ve got their strengths in the way they try to play. We’ll be working on ways of making sure we don’t allow them to hurt us too much with the strengths that they’ve got.

"With the qualities that we’ve got, we’ll be looking to hurt them. They’ll have to be looking out for what we’re going to do against them. It’ll be a game of strategy, passion and desire."
