Omer Riza spoke to the press to preview our Sky Bet Championship clash against Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.
The Bluebirds head into the contest having picked up a win before the international break against Blackburn Rovers, and a draw last time out at home to Sheffield Wednesday.
“Obviously there’s a little bit of edge to it, but that has to be used as a good thing,” Omer began. “The players, the staff and the Club have to take that and use it as energy for the next games.
“We have a game coming up at the weekend and it’s one that we need to win. If you look at the league and the teams that could drop in there, it’s all very close. We know what we need to do.
"We’ve been saying it for a while now that we haven’t been able to pick up that vital win consistently. Our aim is to pick up points to stay out of that bottom three - we’re not interested in the other teams. We need to address our own problems and keep moving forwards.”

Saturday’s opponents currently sit 15th in the second tier table and are without a win in six, having fallen to defeat at Stoke City last time out.
Omer continued: “We’ve put the last nine games [of the season] on individual merits and we’ve got four points from a possible six.
“We’d like to have had six, but football sometimes doesn’t give you want you want, or maybe you don’t do enough to get what you want.
“We are approaching things a little bit differently, and that’s what we’ll continue to do until we finish. For me, what’s important is the togetherness. I have got full confidence in my players.
“I’ve got full confidence in my staff, in the Club and what we’ve done so far this season to try to get out of this season, in our fans to make sure that they are doing what they’ve done all season and I’ve got full confidence in myself to make sure we get out of this situation. That hasn’t changed and it won’t change until the final whistle of the final day.”

The City boss concluded with a fitness update ahead of this weekend’s clash.
“Perry Ng won’t be available, he’s picked up a slight problem. Callum Robinson will be back in the squad, as will Chris Willock.
“Anwar El Ghazi has hurt his back and was unavailable in training today. Joe Ralls and Aaron Ramsey, the long-term injuries, they’re still out.”
