Riza post-QPR | It's a fair point

Omer Riza
Omer Riza spoke to the media after the Bluebirds earned a point at Loftus Road thanks to a 0-0 draw with Queens Park Rangers.

"It was a difficult game." Omer began. "Especially in the first half, I think they were really aggressive. They showed intention to pick up first and second balls well - we didn't do that too well in the first half.

"We went in at 0-0, so we were solid to not concede, and I thought the second half was a better half from us. We created a few more chances, a few more opportunities, and we picked up first and second balls a bit better.

"We didn't quite create those clear-cut openings we needed to finish the game off. There were a couple of little half-chances, and in general I thought we dealt with some of their directness at time. We'll take a point."

The City boss made three substitutions at half time to get the Bluebirds on the front foot, with Omer discussing the thinking behind those changes.

"I thought we looked a little bit leggy [in the first half]. It's a tight pitch anyway, and some of our players need a little bit more of that space. We didn't quite get that enough in the first half, so we just wanted to change it up to see a little more tenacity, to be a little more aggressive.

"I think the changes made a difference in the second half, but we couldn't quite do enough to get that goal. A point is a point, and it's an important point. Of course we wanted to win the game, but I think it's a fair point today.

"We just want to win games. We've got attacking players that can do that. We've got a few options there, and they go out and do the job.

"We've spoken about the last nine games [of the season] - we've picked up five points from nine, we're unbeaten in the last three, and we'll look to take that into Preston. We've got six more games. We have to go into them positively and aiming to win."
