Omer Riza spoke to Cardiff City TV following Saturday’s away draw against Coventry City.
Omer began by reflecting on the performance, as City twice took the lead against the Sky Blues.
“I thought that we played well in patches,” began Omer. “It was a really difficult game for us, we made changes and tweaks to the system that helped us control them a little bit better.
“Once we’d done that in the second half we came out and I thought we took the game to them. We took the lead, and it should have been enough.”
Discussing City’s second half, Omer shared his thoughts on Alex Robertson’s goal, as well as Michael Reindorf’s league debut for the Bluebirds.
“Alex had a great goal today and struck one from outside the box,” he said. “We’re trying to work on those openings so that we can do that some more. It was a lovely goal.
“Michael is working hard all of the time. There has got to be the right timing for him, as he’s still got a lot of work to do, but he worked hard.
"He showed energy and drove at them, he has those little moments where he’s got to be tidier but I’m delighted for him to get his debut in the league and hopefully he’ll get more.”
With City narrowly losing out on three points and a week to go until our home return against Watford, Omer concluded: “I thought in the second half that we were deserving of the lead, and had done enough defensively. We were solid and resilient.
“We maybe could have tidied up those little bits before it got to the cross and penalty, but we have to consider and keep working on that.
“Overall we have to move on, take a point and look forward to Watford.”
