Michael Reindorf

Reindorf post-Bristol Rovers | A proud moment

Interviews
Michael Reindorf spoke to Cardiff City TV following his First Team debut in our 2-0 victory over Bristol Rovers.

The striker, who joined our U21 side in the summer, came on in the 59th minute and impressed with his directness.

“That was a fantastic moment for me and my family,” Michael began. “I feel like I’ve worked so hard to get to this position and I'm so happy to be here at this point.

“The atmosphere was crazy, nothing like I’ve played in before. It was my first time playing First Team football and I feel like the crowd were really on our side.

“When you come on as a substitute, you have to make an impact. There were definitely a bit of nerves before I came on, but as soon as I got onto the pitch, they went away."

The 19-year-old has had a productive pre-season for our U21s, who have tested themselves against men’s teams such as Potters Bar Town and Barry Town United.

Darren Purse’s side have also been competing in the Nathaniel MG Cup, which has benefitted Reindorf.

He continued: “Pre-season has gone really well for me. I’ve got my goals, got my opportunity and I feel like I’ve taken it.

“Going out in pre-season against men’s teams, it gave me an inkling of what I need to be doing.

“I would say my confidence is high at the moment, but I just want to keep working hard to get more opportunities.”
