Aaron Ramsey spoke to the press to preview Saturday's Sky Bet Championship fixture against West Bromwich Albion.
Last time out, City were held to a 1-1 draw against Oxford United on Easter Monday, with positives to take forward from the performance.
“I think the main thing is that we know we have to win the next game. We’re just focused on producing a performance that we can build on from the last game," Aaron began. "That will put us in a good place to do that.
"It was a really positive performance on Monday. 99 times out of 100, you go on and win that game. It just took one bit of magic from them to get that equaliser, but those things happen in football sometimes and it’s about putting that behind us now and looking forward.
“Performances and results come hand in hand - you perform well, the majority of the time, you’re going to have a positive result from it. The boys are in a good place and we’ll go into this game needing to win it."

This Saturday will mark Aaron's second match in interim charge of the Bluebirds, having this week had more time to implement his instructions to the squad.
"The spirit has been brilliant. They’ve been first class. Everyone has come in and been given a new lease of life and energy. I think you can feel a real buzz around the place. That’ll be important, the energy from us and the crowd, it’s going to be massive again on Saturday. We’ll need everybody fully on board and getting behind us.
“It is a difficult position we’re in, there’s no shying away from that. There’s a lot of things that can happen between now and the end of the season, and there’s still a lot of football to be played. For me now, it’s just about getting a result on Saturday and being fully focused on that.
“The players get it, they know. There’s players and staff in this club, we’re all together in this. They’ve seen it with the fans at the weekend, we’re all on board. The celebration after the goal, jumping in with the fans, the bench was over, the subs were joining in. We all want the same outcome so we have to be together to make that possible.
“For me, the atmosphere and togetherness was evident on Monday. It was a proper game where everyone felt a part of it. That’s huge for us and we need them to do that again. It was an enjoyable atmosphere and a real team effort. Hopefully we can have that again this weekend. Our full focus is to give us a chance on the final day. For us to do that, we’ll have to win on Saturday.”

Our opponents on Saturday currently sit 10th in the second-tier table and have picked up three points from their last three matches.
“They’re a good team, a bit of experience in there at this level and some players who are more than capable of playing," Aaron added. "I’m expecting for them to want to play, try and play between the lines and for them to be quite aggressive in the press.
"We’ve seen a bit of them, they have some real threats across the pitch, but hopefully we can best prepare the players to deal with that to implement what we want to and have them have something to worry about from us.
“These players have won plenty of games in their careers, so they know how to do that. It’s just about giving them the belief now to do that and the right structure for them to be able to do it. The confidence seems high, the energy seems high in training, so hopefully now they can transmit that into the game.”
