Ramsey post-Bristol Rovers | A positive pre-season
Aaron Ramsey spoke to Cardiff City TV following our 2-0 victory over Bristol Rovers in the final game of pre-season.
The City playmaker opened the scoring with a fantastic strike from distance, with Joe Ralls also netting a fine finish.
“I think in general pre-season has gone pretty well," Aaron began. "We have really worked hard. You can see some of the things coming off. To finish with a win before the season next week, it's always nice. Hopefully, that gives us a good platform now to go on and have a really good start.
"It’s all put us in a in a good place now. We are all trying to be a bit more aggressive, win the ball higher up the pitch and things like that. It’s been as good as pre-season could have gone.”
After opening the scoring, fellow midfielder Ralls netted a fine strike in the second half.
Commenting on the skipper's goal, he added: “It was put on a plate for him, wasn’t it? No, to be fair, it was a great strike and hopefully, he can get a couple of them this season as well.
“We're going to need everybody chipping in this year. I hope there'll be a few more to his collection.”
The City no.10 concluded by reflecting on an injury-hit 2023/24 campaign and looking ahead to the new season.
"I’ve worked hard in the off season and in pre-season. I can't wait to get going and hopefully, have a great season and one that we can all remember.
"I think it was a bit of a freak injury last year and that’s not something that too many players experience. It was a very frustrating time for me. I've worked extremely hard in the off season and then to take that into the pre-season as well.
"I've given myself a good base, a good platform and hopefully now, I can sustain that and play a big role this season.”
