City skipper Joe Ralls undertook Press duties on Thursday ahead of Saturday’s early-kick off in South Yorkshire against Sheffield Wednesday.
The Bluebirds return from the November international break targeting a return to form after the disappointment of back-to-back slip-ups against Luton Town and Blackburn Rovers.
And they’ll be boosted by the return of Rallsy following a short-term absence from the side.
“I’ve had a good couple of weeks; the break was good for me personally in terms of being able to get some training in and also some mental rest,” Joe began.
“I’ve had a good week of training and hopefully I’ll be back involved now I’m available. I’ve been out a little while, but it’s been good to get back in and be with the boys every day again.”
City had gone six games unbeaten prior to dropping the last six points on offer, and Ralls reflected on a strong period from which City will look to build into the festive fixtures.
“It’s been a joy seeing the lads playing with smiles on their faces,” Rallsy admitted. “Even though we were disappointed with the two results before the break, overall, I think it was a good block for us. We’re now in a position from which we can start climbing the table.
“I’m proud of what the boys showed and how they went about things and there were some really good performances as well.”
And ahead of the weekend trip to the Owls, the Captain highlighted that the squad knew exactly what was expected of them against a side three points above them in the Championship table.
“I expect a really tough game, particularly with the [weather] conditions,” said Joe. “It’s never an easy game at Hillsborough and you’ve got to work hard to earn your win.
“They’ve got some good players, but we’d like to think that teams are now aware of our qualities too.
“We’re hoping to go up there and give a really good away performance.”
