"I'm really happy." Joe began. "It's nice to make my 400th game; I'm really happy with that, and it's nice to top it off with a win as well. We really wanted to get that win and get into the hat for the next round, and we've got that today.

"We had a good couple of Cup runs a long time ago now, so it will be nice to try and have one again. It wasn't just about making a few changes and seeing how it goes - the boys were really hungry to get into the next round. It's a great competition, and we're really happy to be in the next round. Hopefully we'll get a good draw.

"Momentum is massive in football. We've had three good results in the league, and we wanted to keep that going. It's important we keep the confidence and momentum going, and we did that today."

Rallsy spoke highly of the young players who featured against Sheffield United, including match-winner Cian Ashford.

"There were some changes, some young lads getting their first taste of professional football. They were battling, keeping a clean sheet. There were some lads coming in who haven't had a lot of minutes over the last weeks and months, so I was really happy with the performance and the win.

"Cian has been brilliant. I'm really happy for him, because he's a great lad and he's got so much ability.  He had a little spell out of the team, and I think sometimes you need that as a young player, to work on your game and work hard in training. He's done that, taken his opportunity, he's been brilliant for us in the league and he's shown his quality again today."

Having made his City debut back in August 2011, Joe became the latest member of a very special group of Bluebirds to have made 400 competitive appearances for the Club.

He said: "I am massively proud. Looking at the young lads today, going into the dressing room and seeing the shirts with their names on it for the first time, it didn't seem that long ago when that was me. So to reach 400 games for a Club that I love, to hit that milestone, is something I'm really proud of.

"We've got a big half of the season coming up, where we need to pick up points and get ourselves out of the situation we're in. That's my focus now - there have been loads of good times over the years, but my full focus is on trying to get us ready for the half of the season that's coming up now, because it's massively important for this football club.

"I'm enjoying my football. I love being the captain of this group, a great group of lads who are all working hard. We've got a good mix of youth and experience, and it's a pleasure to be playing football with these boys. I want to keep it going for as long as possible, and hopefully I can get a few more appearances up there."
