PRE-MATCH | IAIN DARBYSHIRE
Ahead of the fixture, head coach Iain Darbyshire said: “I’m very excited to return to the Swansea.com stadium this weekend. It's going to be a fantastic match against difficult opposition. Both sides have had positive starts to the season, so it'll be a very interesting game, but one we're really looking forward to.
“We’re always proud to represent Cardiff City in the South Wales derby. We know how much it means to the fans and we’ll be looking to give them a performance they’ll be proud of.”
PRE-MATCH | MOLLY KEHOE
City playmaker Molly Kehoe, who made a habit of scoring against Swansea City last season, added: “I think I’ve scored in almost every game I played against Swansea last season, but this time, playing in their stadium for a big derby, it’ll be my first time playing there, but again it will be another really good opportunity for women’s football in general to be playing in bigger stadiums, especially in such a big game.”
“We’re pretty confident after a good start to the season. We know the games will be tough. The league is a lot more competitive, other teams have made signings and strengthened, but I think we’re all ready for it and we have to make sure we’re prepared for every game.”
OPPOSITION FOCUS
Sunday's opponents come into the fixture unbeaten in the league so far with a record of two wins and one draw. They narrowly overcame Cardiff Met 2-1 on the opening day of the season, before drawing 0-0 against Barry Town United.
Last time out, Jamie Sherwood’s side edged out Wrexham 3-2 at the Racecourse, with goals from Stacey John-Davis, Jessica Williams and an own goal giving them all three points.
