Iain Darbyshire
PRE-MATCH | IAIN DARBYSHIRE

Ahead of this weekend's fixture, head coach Iain Darbyshire said: "We're really looking forward to the South Wales Derby this weekend. We are full of confidence after last weekend’s result against TNS, but we know it’s going to be another difficult game.

"The last time we played them, we struggled in different phases of the game so we are looking to put that right, but we know that if we play our best and play at our maximum level, we have a good chance to come away with all three points."

PRE-MATCH | FIONA BARRY

Attacker Fiona Barry, who is in a rich vein of form, added: "The result at the weekend has definitely helped with confidence going into the match. The last game against TNS just shows what we can do when we are 100% and we have to do what we have to do. We’re focused on still improving and we’re aiming to do that this weekend. In my first South Wales derby, it didn’t go how we wanted so we’ve just got to make sure we put it right this time and carry on this momentum.

"The girls put a real shift in on the weekend and I think it showed how much we wanted the result, going down in the match three times but still winning and it felt great coming off the pitch with three points. Iain’s been saying that we need to take each game as it comes and we wouldn’t have settled for anything less than three points.

"It’s always nice to score too which is what I’ve set out to do this season, but I couldn’t do it without the girls. The morale of the squad is so good, you can feel it at training that everyone puts in 100% in each session, and I feel that’s being shown on the pitch as well."
