Pack | We’ve got a massive opportunity now

HULL REACTION | PACK

Cardiff City midfielder Marlon Pack spoke with the press after the 3-0 win over Hull City which secured a play-off spot.

“It’s a very happy dressing room,” Marlon began. “But we’re not getting too carried away. We know we haven’t achieved anything yet.

“The form since the season has restarted has been brilliant. We gave ourselves a real chance with the results and I think we carried on the momentum.

“I think it started tonight how we wanted. We went in with confidence, and rightly so. From kick-off, we created numerous chances. We could’ve been out of sight quite early on.”

He continued: “At times this season, it hasn’t been quite as free flowing as we’ve shown since lockdown, but you can see the spike in form and the gradual influence game-by-game in our style of play.

“On the whole - we’ve looked better in larger spells of the games. I think that’s the influence of having time on the training field.

“We aren’t the finished article yet - but it has put us in a good place."

The Bluebirds will now face Fulham over two legs in the Championship Play-Off Semi-Final.

  • Cardiff City vs. Fulham – Cardiff City Stadium – Monday 27th July (7.45pm)
  • Fulham vs. Cardiff City – Craven Cottage – Thursday 30th July (7.45pm)

Discussing the run to the top six and our upcoming clash with the Whites, Marlon added: “Maybe we got written off in terms of making the play-offs. Maybe that is down to our performances this season at times where we weren’t at our best, and we hold our hands up at that. We’re gathering momentum at the right time.

“Maybe there is a bit of pressure on them. A few games ago they got a well deserved victory against us. We’ve got to make sure we are better than we were on that day and get a good result.

“It is such a shame not to be able to share it with the fans. A semi-final, here, at home. That would be some atmosphere.

“Everyone is in the same boat. We’ve got a massive opportunity now."
