Ollie Tanner signs contract extension with Cardiff City
Ollie Tanner has signed a three year contract extension with the Bluebirds, keeping him at the Club until 2027.
The winger made the move to the Welsh capital in May 2022 from Lewes, having also featured at youth level for Charlton Athletic and Arsenal, before featuring at senior level for National League side Bromley.
Tanner has made 11 appearances for the Bluebirds this season, making his first Sky Bet Championship start against Ipswich Town last month.
The 21-year-old netted his first City goal in some style, finding the bottom corner with a fine strike in the South Wales derby against Swansea City, before winning a penalty, which Aaron Ramsey converted to seal a 2-0 win.
Upon signing his new contract, Ollie commented: “I'm buzzing. It's a good feeling to be here for many more years and to continue what I've been doing.
"It's a massive Club. I knew that when I signed here originally. To then get an extension is a delight.
"He [Erol Bulut] has been a massive part. He's given me plenty of opportunities this season to show what I can do.
"He could have easily put me back out on loan or not played me, but he did, and has put trust in me. I'm forever grateful to him and to sign a contract while he's here is a big thing."
Recalling his first goal for the Bluebirds against Swansea City, Ollie added: "It ranks at the top, definitely. That feeling was unbelievable. The roar from the fans, it was quite something.
"It was massive for me, but it was also massive for the fans. It was unbelievable and for the Club as well. We don't ever want to lose to anyone."
