Nieve Jenkins added to City Women squad
Nieve Jenkins has joined the Bluebirds, becoming our fourth signing of the summer.
The 22-year-old offers versatility to head coach Iain Darbyshire's squad, as she is able to play as an accomplished centre-back and in midfield.
Jenkins has previously represented Swansea City and Cardiff Metropolitan University in the Adran Premier.
Her arrival follows the signings of Shannon Evans, Fiona Barry and Laura Curnock this summer.
Speaking after sealing her move to the Welsh capital, Nieve said: "It's a really exciting opportunity to sign for Cardiff City, who are such a successful team. Being treble winners last season, this team have done so much for women's football on and off the pitch. I have big boots to fill, but I'm looking forward to it.
"I'm hoping to bring a lot of experience of playing in the Adran Premier and the Women's Champions League, which I've played in three times in my career so far."
Head coach Iain Darbyshire added: "I’m delighted that Nieve has decided to join us. She has settled in very well, and shown her qualities in the past matches whilst on trial. Nieve is very versatile and will offer us a lot as the season progresses."
