Murphy post-Coventry | I've got a smile on my face
COVENTRY REACTION | MURPHY
Josh Murphy spoke exclusively to Cardiff City TV after helping the Bluebirds to a third consecutive victory.
City's no. 11 played a starring role in the win over Coventry City, but was full of praise for the industry and quality of his teammates.
"I thought the boys were excellent today," he said following the final whistle.
"We dug in and I think you can see with the way that we're playing at the moment, we're very resilient.
"Then, when the chances are coming we're putting them away, which we probably weren't doing previously. Everyone's buzzing in the dressing room."
Having teed up Kieffer Moore's opener, Josh latched onto Perry Ng's free-kick to make it three against the Sky Blues.
He felt the right-back's assist was proof of the intensity that the Bluebirds have shown under Mick McCarthy, as he continued: "Perry has been excellent ever since he came in. He picked me out and I was able to finish into the bottom corner.
"It's just about getting everyone on the same wavelength, being a bit more attacking and speeding up the play. Everyone is thriving off that at the moment."
The goal was the winger's first of the season, and he finished by explaining how a shift in momentum has helped to springboard the Bluebirds up the table.
"I've got a smile on my face," he added. "I think you can see the team morale at the moment. Everyone is thriving, looking forward to games and putting a shift in.
"Probably in the past, we weren't getting the rub of the green, and now things are falling our way, we're taking our chances and everyone's playing well. We need to keep that going.
"We've got a talented and successful squad who are used to having a winning feeling. That's coming back now and we just want more and more. We've got momentum behind us and just need to keep pushing for results."
