Moz post-Swansea | This is what Cardiff City is all about
Cardiff City captain Sean Morrison spoke to Sky Sports immediately after the 1-0 South Wales derby victory over Swansea City.
The Bluebirds No.4 overcame a number of injury issues to put in an incredible performance, keeping out the Swans, and being rewarded with a clean sheet and the Man of the Match award.
"I think I pulled my calf after about 50 minutes," Morrison began. "So I popped a few painkillers and got on with it. But look at the young lad who came in at right-back, Tom Sang, Browny next to Flinty. Joe Ralls out of position at left wing-back. We dug in today. This is what Cardiff City is all about.
"We owe the fans this one. The last three derby games, we've been way off it. We know how much this means to the fans. So that was for all the fans that couldn't be here today. All of them at home watching on tele. That was for them."
The skipper continued: "It's a lot of pressure to carry. We spoke about it in the week. We didn't want to be on the wrong side of history.
"Were we the better team today with the ball? Probably not. But what we've shown is fight, character and determination and we've come out with a 1-0 win and we're extremely happy with it.
"From where we were when the manager first came in, if you'd said that we had a chance of the play-offs, people would've laughed. We've given ourselves an opportunity.
"Three points today is massive on that journey. I think we've got eight games after the international break. Some big games in there.
"We just need to pick up as many points as possible and get to that 75-point mark. Don't worry about anyone else. We worry about ourselves and see where it takes us."
