On this day in 2023, the Bluebirds added the signing of Cayman Islands international Molly Kehoe.
From making her UEFA Women's Champions League debut to netting crucial goals on our way to completing a domestic treble for the first time, Molly has starred in her first year as a Bluebird.
"My first season at Cardiff City was a good one for me," Molly said. "It took me a while to settle in, but the team welcomed me in and I was able to bring something to the team, which is what I wanted to do."
As we reflect on the City playmaker's first 12 months at the Club, Molly looked back on some of her best moments.
UEFA Women's Champions League debut
Molly's first competitive action in a City shirt was on the European stage, as the Bluebirds took on FC Gintra and Shelbourne.
The experience was a valuable learning one for Iain Darbyshire's side, who are set to feature again in the competition this upcoming September.
Reflecting on the European campaign, Molly said: "It was a big achievement for me. It wasn't something that I thought would happen in my career, but it was a great opportunity and experience."
First City goal
The playmaker's first goal for the Club came in a 3-1 victory over The New Saints at Cardiff International Sports Campus.
After turning the defender with a shrewd piece of skill, Molly picked out the top corner.
"It felt great to score my first goal of the season," she continued. "It gave me a lot of confidence and helped me going forward."
Making her mark against Wrexham
A trip to face Wrexham at The Rock in October saw Molly continue her bright start to life in the Welsh capital.
A brilliant brace contributed to an important 3-0 win for the Bluebirds.
Molly commented: "To score two goals against Wrexham, who are a big club, and to do it live on television, so my friends and family back home could watch, it was a great feeling."
Lighting up CCS
In her first year at the Club, Molly has also had vast experience of playing at Cardiff City Stadium.
The first of which was against Barry Town United, with the Cayman Islands international netting in a 6-1 victory.
Reflecting on her CCS experience, she said: "I had never played in a massive stadium like that before. It was a great feeling to walk out with the team and to score in front of all the fans."
South Wales derby delight
City's no.15 made a habit of scoring in South Wales derbies throughout the season and netted in her first one at Llandarcy Academy of Sport.
Scoring the winning goal in the second half, the 1-0 victory was crucial on the way to the title.
"Coming in, I didn't realise that it was such a big rivalry," Molly continued. "Before the game, I didn't overthink it. For some reason, I always seem to score in the big games. We didn't have a great past playing Swansea away, so to get that win was great for us."
A crucial goal on the way to the treble
One of, if not the most important goal on City's route to completing the treble came in the Bute Energy Welsh Cup Semi-Final.
With the score locked at 1-1 against Swansea City, Molly found the net in the 84th minute to send the Bluebirds into the final.
"That was a tough game for us," Molly added. "I remember being on the bench and Iain put me on in the 60th minute. Someone had told me before the game that I'm going to go on and score the winner, and that's what I did, so it was great to win that game."
Securing the title
The Adran Premier title was secured in a high-pressure match against Swansea City, in which the Bluebirds produced a brilliant performance.
In a 4-0 victory at Cardiff International Sports Campus, Molly was on the scoresheet, along with Rhianne Oakley and Eliza Collie.
"I always love playing night games and I think the team came together really well in that game," she said. "We knew that if we won that game, we would secure the title and to have three different goalscorers, it shows the quality that we have."
Adran Trophy glory
Molly's second piece of silverware at the Club was the Adran Trophy.
City claimed a 5-1 win in the final, with the attacking midfielder on the scoresheet once again.
She said: "The girls spoke about that competition being the one that we hadn't won yet and we all wanted to do it, so to win that game and win the Adran Trophy was great for us."
Completing the treble
On the final day of the 2024/25 season, the treble was secured with a 2-0 victory over Wrexham at Rodney Parade.
The feat was the first time that it was achieved in City Women's history.
Molly concluded: "That wasn't our best game as a team, but we managed to get the job done. That's a sign of a good team that we can get over the line and find a way when we're not playing as well as we can."
