Match Report | Cardiff City 0-2 Queens Park Rangers
Cardiff City fell to a 2-0 defeat to Queens Park Rangers on Wednesday evening.
A brace from Zan Celar secured all three points for the visitors.
Interim boss Omer Riza made three changes to the side that started against Sheffield Wednesday last time out, with Joel Bagan, Calum Chambers and Joe Ralls coming into the starting XI.
Jak Alnwick was forced into action inside the opening minute, denying Paul Smyth with a smart save at the near post.
City came close just minutes later, as Ralls’ corner was played in dangerously, dropping to Perry Ng, who forced a save from goalkeeper Paul Nardi, with the rebound just out of reach for Callum Robinson.
Ralls would then test Nardi again from distance, forcing the French goalkeeper into another save.
The visitors would then take the lead five minutes before the break, with Celar getting on the end of a long throw with a sweeping half-volley to beat Alnwick in goal.
City applied pressure looking to level the score, with Ralls again testing Nardi in goal with a well-hit effort low to the keepers left.
Robinson came agonisingly close to an equaliser, but another fine stop from the R's goalkeeper at the near post denied him.
Rubin Colwill's dangerous effort went close to levelling things up, faking the cross and cutting back onto his left, only to be denied again by Nardi.
It was then Callum Chambers' turn to go close, rising highest from a corner on the stroke of 90 minutes but again stopped by the goalkeeper.
The visitors would break away, as Celar found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper and chippedt ball into the next to seal victory.
Next up for the Bluebirds is a visit to Coventry City on Saturday, November 30th, with kick-off at 3pm.
