The Bluebirds travel to Stoke City in Emirates FA Cup Fourth Round action on Saturday afternoon.
The fixture will take place on February 8th, with a kick off time of 3pm.
OPPOSITION FOCUS | IN THE DUGOUT
Stoke City’s manager is Mark Robins, who was appointed last month.
Following Robins' playing career, he became assistant manager at Rotherham United. After the departure of Alan Knill, Robins took charge as manager.
He impressed at the Millers, earning a move to Barnsley, who at the time were in the Championship. Robins kept the Tykes up, before leaving at the end of the 2010/11 season.
Robins went on to have a brief first stint at Coventry City before moving to Huddersfield Town. In his first season at the Terriers, he avoided relegation on the last day of the season.
Scunthorpe United appointed Robins in October 2014, but he was dismissed in early 2016 with the club six points above the League One relegation zone.
The former striker returned to Coventry City in March 2017. Robins had a successful spell at the Sky Blues, achieving promotion from League Two to the Championship, reaching a Play-Off Final and an FA Cup Semi-Final before his dismissal earlier this season.
Since taking charge at the Potters, Robins has won two games, drawn three and lost one.
OPPOSITION FOCUS | SEASON SO FAR
The hosts head into the contest sat 18th in the Sky Bet Championship.
The Potters have struggled on home turf this campaign, ranking 23rd in the Championship based on home form.
Last time out in Emirates FA Cup action, Stoke City defeated Sunderland 2-1 to progress to Round Four of the competition.
Former Stoke City loanee Tom Cannon netted an early penalty to put the Potters ahead but Milan Aleksić's second half goal sent the game to extra time. Niall Ennis' 112th minute goal secured victory for the Potters to help send them through to the next round.
CLUB CONNECTION | KENWYNE JONES
Trinidad and Tobago international Kenwyne Jones had spells at both the Bluebirds and the Potters during his playing career.
Jones made 130 appearances for Stoke City, including six in the UEFA Europa League. During his time at the Potters, he netted 31 times, 13 of which came in the Premier League.
In January 2014, the striker moved to the Welsh Capital in a player exchange deal, with Peter Odemwingie going the other way.
Jones scored on his debut for the Bluebirds in a 2-1 win over Norwich City, with Craig Bellamy scoring the other.
The forward went on to make 67 appearances for City, scoring 18 times.
OPPOSITION FOCUS | JANUARY BUSINESS
The Potters had a busy January transfer window with players moving in both directions.
Striker Cannon exited the club, after being recalled from loan by Leicester before being sold to Sheffield United and Ennis was loaned out to League One side Blackpool for the remainder of the season.
Both players departed the club having scored in Stoke City's Emitates FA Cup match against Sunderland last month.
The Potters strengthened at left back, with former Bluebird loanee Josh Wilson-Esbrand joining until the end of the season.
Ipswich Town’s Ali Al-Hamadi also joined the Potters for the remainder of the season, but is unavailable for this weekend’s clash having already played for Ipswich in the FA Cup this season, making him cup-tied.
