Wilder then had brief spells at both Middlesbrough and Watford before returning to the Blades midway through the 2023/24 campaign.

Since returning to Sheffield United, Wilder has achieved a win percentage of 42.25%, winning 30, drawing 12 and losing 29.

The hosts head into Friday's game sat third in the Sky Bet Championship.

Sheffield United have impressed home and away this campaign picking up 45 and 40 points respectively.

However, the Blades are without a win in three, having suffered defeats to Oxford United, Millwall and Plymouth Argyle in recent weeks.

Last time out, Wilder's side were defeated 2-1 against Plymouth Argyle at Home Park. The Blades took the lead through Jesuran Rak-Sakyi late in the first half, but two late Argyle goals courtesy of Ryan Hardie and Muhamed Tijani secured all three points to take home to Devon.

Hamer joined the Blades from Coventry City in August 2023 and has gone on to make 78 appearances in all competitions since his arrival.

This campaign, the midfielder has netted eight times and assisted six, playing a crucial role in Sheffield United’s promotion hopes.

However, the former Dutch youth international has accumulated the most yellow cards of any Championship player this season, with a total of 12 bookings.

Throughout his impressive playing career, Nathan Blake represented both the Bluebirds and the Blades.

Born in Cardiff, Blake made his City debut in March 1990 against Bristol Rovers.

He quickly became a key First Team player and was a integral part of the 1992/93 Third Division title-winning side.

During his four years in the Welsh capital, the former striker made 131 appearances scoring 35 times.

Blake made his move to the Blades in February 1994, who at the time were in the Premier League.

During his first two full seasons at the Club, he was Sheffield United’s top goalscorer and his impressive record in front of goal earned him a reported £1.2 million move to Bolton Wanderers.
