OPPOSITION FOCUS | IN THE DUGOUT
QPR’s manager is Martí Cifuentes, who has been in the role since October 2023.
Cifuentes had a brief playing career only playing at amateur level before focusing solely on management.
He began his management career in the youth department at CE Sabadell in Spain before stepping up to assistant manager of the first team.
The Spaniard had brief spells in Ajax and Millwall's academies before returning home to become a coach in Terrassa FC's youth setup.
He began his senior management career at UE Rubí, after being promoted from youth coach, but was dismissed halfway through the season.
Cifuentes then went on to have spells at Sant Andreu, CE L’Hospitalet and AIK. The Spanish boss then moved to Sandefjord where he impressed, earning himself a move to Aalborg BK before being poached by Hammarby in Sweden.
Cifuentes’s moved to QPR in October 2023, after showing his quality at the Swedish outfit boasting a win record of 52.05%.
Since moving to England, the Spaniard has won 16 times at QPR, leading the Hoops to an 18th place finish last season.
OPPOSITION FOCUS | SEASON SO FAR
Our visitors head into the game sitting 24th in the Sky Bet Championship.
The Hoops have the worst home record in the league only picking up 4 points at MATRADE Loftus Road Stadium this season. On their travels this season, Cifuentes' side have performed much better and currently sit 17th in the table on away form.
The R’s haven’t won a game since August when they defeated Luton Town away from home 2-1 and goals from Nicolas Madsen and Nicolas Frey gifted our visitors all three points.
Last time out, QPR drew 1-1 with Stoke City on Saturday afternoon. An own goal from Ben Gibson gave the home side a point. They could have walked away with three points, but QPR’s Zan Celar’s put his penalty wide of the post.
CITY FLASHBACK | PATERSON FIRES HOME A BEAUTY
The Bluebirds hosted a memorable clash with QPR at Cardiff City Stadium back in the 2019/2020 season.
Sean Morrison opened the scoring on the night heading home from close range, before Marlon Pack extended our lead tapping in at the back post.
The highlight of the evening was a spectacular half volley from Callum Paterson, which secured all three points for City in an impressive 3-0 victory over the visitors.
The win took the Bluebirds, under the control of Neil Warnock, up to 10th place and just two points outside the Play-Off places.
CLUB CONNECTION | CHRIS WILLOCK
Chris Willock joined the Bluebirds this summer from our visitors QPR.
Willock started his career at Arsenal before having spells at Benfica, West Brom and Huddersfield Town, prior to finding a permanent home at QPR.
He represented the Hoops for just under four years, making 144 appearances, scoring 20 times and providing 22 assists.
He became a key part of the London side's team and earned himself a move to the Bluebirds earlier this year.
Since moving to the Welsh Capital, he has made 14 appearances, scoring and assisting once.
