Opposition Focus | Season so far
Preston have only tasted defeat twice in league action in 2022. They've shown marked improvement under Ryan Lowe, who took over the Club in early December. In 15 league matches at the helm, Lowe has overseen six wins, seven draws and two defeats.
Lowe's record in the league accounts for half of their points total for the campaign, with North End currently sitting in 12th place on 50 points from 36 matches.
His one cup match in charge came at Cardiff City Stadium behind closed doors in January, where Mark Harris' extra time winner helped the Bluebirds set up a fourth round clash with Liverpool.
Opposition Focus: Ones to watch
Emil Riis Jakobsen is enjoying a fine second season with Preston North End. The forward scored three times during the 2021/22 campaign, but already has 13 league goals this term from 36 appearances. Last week, the Dane netted an 89th minute winner to help the Lilywhites to victory over high flying AFC Bournemouth.
A January loan acquisition, Cameron Archer has made a real impact to this Lilywhites side. The forward, temporarily with the Club from Aston Villa, has five Championship strikes in 10 appearances, including four goals in games in which Preston were victorious.
Joining Archer on five goals for the season is midfielder Daniel Johnson. The Jamaican has been a key player at Deepdale for seven seasons. He's made 38 appearances for the side during the current campaign.
