After Sellés' playing career, he had a number of jobs as a fitness coach and assistant manager around Europe before landing his first managerial role at Southampton.

He originally joined the Saints as assistant manager to Ralph Hasenhüttl at the start of the 2022/2023 season. He continued in the role under Nathan Jones after Hasenhüttl's dismissal, before being promoted to manager for the remainder of the season following Jones' own departure.

The Spaniard left at the end of the campaign with Southampton relegated from the Premier League having only won two games in 17.

In June 2023 he was announced as manager of Reading, and guided them to a 17th place finish despite a six-point deduction.

Earlier this season Sellés joined Hull City on a two-and-a-half-year contract. Since joining the Tigers he has a win percentage of 33.33% having won five games, drawn three and lost seven.

Hull City
OPPOSITION FOCUS | SEASON SO FAR

Hull City are currently 20th in the Sky Bet Championship, level on points with the Bluebirds

The Tigers have impressed on the road this season, picking up 60.61% of their points away from home. The 20 points they have got on their travels puts them 8th in the Championship on away form.

Hull have enjoyed a good run of games recently, picking up two wins and a draw in their last five matches, including an emphatic 3-0 win against high flyers Sheffield United.

Last time out, Hull City defeated Sunderland 1-0 at the Stadium of Light. An early own goal by Anthony Patterson was enough to secure all three points for the Tigers, as they became the first team to beat the Black Cats at home this season.

Louie Barry
OPPOSITION FOCUS | Winter BUSINESS

The Tigers bolstered their squad in January with eight new players joining the side. Among those names were Louie Barry, Eliot Matazo, John Egan and Matt Crooks

Barry joined on loan from Aston Villa and will be hoping to capture the same form he showed at previous loan side Stockport County, where he netted 25 times in 46 games. However, the youngster was forced off with an injury at the weekend, and is doubtful to play in South Wales.

Matazo moved to the Tigers from Ligue 1 side Monaco and has had a good start to life in English football, having already found the back of the net from midfield.

Former Sheffield United defender Egan made the move to Hull in January, hoping for more first team football having struggled for game time at promotion hopefuls Burnley in the first half of the season.

Following a brief spell in the MLS, Crooks returned to English football where he has plenty of experience, having already racked up 166 appearances in the Championship at a number of clubs throughout his career.
