Preparations
The encounter will be the Bluebirds’ second of the week after playing Cardiff Met at Cyncoed Campus on Wednesday evening.
City won their opening two pre-season fixtures comfortably, defeating Cascade Ladies 9-1 at Cardiff International Sports Campus on Sunday, July 21st and Bideford AFC Ladies 7-0 seven days later at the same venue.

The opposition
Cheltenham Town Ladies FC were formed in 1989 from a five-a-side team and began as Cheltenham YMCA in the South West Combination League.
Now, the club has almost 150 members, meaning they are the leading ladies football club in Gloucestershire and the wider region and their First Team competes in the FA Women’s National League Division 1 South West.
They have won the GFA County Cup twice: in 2016/17 and 2018/19, their nickname is The Robins and they compete at DN Fire Stadium, which is shared with Cheltenham Saracens FC.
In July 2017, Cheltenham Town Ladies created a youth section by merging with Cheltenham Spa Girls FC to offer a clear pathway for females aged ten and above.
Pre-match quotes
Iain Darbyshire
“We are excited for Sunday’s game and took a lot of positives from the Cardiff Met encounter, particularly in the second-half as we really dominated against a top team.
“Cheltenham Town will be tough opposition, but we are in the thick of pre-season and relishing the different challenges and the girls are looking sharp, so we are pleased with their development so far.”
