We take a look at how all of our young Bluebirds got on in action for their respective sides in this week’s loan report…
Cymru Premier League
Sion Spence and George Ratcliffe – Barry Town United
Midfielder Sion Spence and Goalkeeper George Ratcliffe both appeared in a 2-0 win over Airbus on Saturday, with Ratcliffe claiming yet another clean sheet for the Linnets, who put in another fine showing to return to first place in the Cymru Premier League table. Spence also put in a solid showing, hitting the woodwork in the 25th minute and going on to finish 2nd in the voting for fans’ man of the match.
The next match for Gavin Chesterfield’s side is against Caernarfon Town away from home this Saturday, 2:30pm kick-off.
Dan Griffiths, Keenan Patten and Ryan Reynolds – Penybont FC
It was a disappointing week for Penybont, as they fell to a disappointing 3-2 defeat at the hands of Cefn Druids. Keenan Patten and Dan Griffiths both started the match, with Dan netting his fourth goal of the campaign during the encounter. Ryan Reynolds didn’t feature, with the defender still recovering from an injury sustained earlier in the season.
The next match for Rhys Griffiths’ side is against Cardiff Met this Friday, 7:45pm.
The National League
Mark Harris – Wrexham
Forward Mark Harris appeared in both of Wrexham’s matches over the past week, being brought into proceedings from the bench on both occasions. The Wales U21 international replaced striker JJ Hooper in against Chesterfield on Tuesday in the 67th minute, as the Red Dragons progressed to the first-round proper of the FA Cup following a 1-0 victory at the Racecourse.
More recently, he replaced JJ Hooper in the 39th minute due to an injury sustained by the striker against Dagenham and Redbridge last Saturday. Harris would prove to be a lively spark throughout, but he couldn’t prevent his side from falling to a 2-1 defeat on the road.
Wrexham’s next fixture is on Tuesday, with Dean Keates’ side travelling to face Torquay United, 7:45pm kick-off.
National League South
Jack Bodenham and Warren Burwood – Hereford FC
Hereford’s last fixture was last Tuesday, as their match against Alfreton Town last Saturday was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, meaning that the Bulls got a rare Saturday off.
Defender Jack Bodenham started in the most recent game against Southport FC, as Russell Slade’s side fell to a disappointing 3-2 defeat. Warren Burwood was an unused substitute.
Their next fixture is against Darlington on Saturday, November 2nd.
Southern Premier South
James Waite, Dan Martin and Connor Davies – Weston Super-Mare
Both Daniel Martin and James Waite featured for Scott Bartlett’s side on Tuesday, as they claimed a 3-1 win at home against Tiverton Town. Dan Martin was forced off through injury in the 41st minute, with Connor Davies an unused sub on the bench.
The Seagulls were knocked out of the FA Trophy in the first qualifying round on Saturday, with James Waite and Connor Davies both featuring in the 3-2 defeat.
The next match for Scott Bartlett’s side is at home against Harrow Borough on Tuesday at the Optima Stadium – 7:45pm kick-off.
