CYMRU PREMIER LEAGUE
George Ratcliffe and Sion Spence – Barry Town United
Barry Town United enjoyed a successful Christmas, with two wins and a draw to celebrate in the Cymru Premier League. Barry enjoyed away victories over Aberystwyth Town and Cardiff Met, also drawing at Jenner Park to the Archers.
Goalkeeper George Ratcliffe was sidelined over the festive period with injury, deputising for Mike Lewis in the Barry goal. However, midfielder Sion Spence started two of the three matches, and played the full 90 minutes against Aberystwyth.
Dan Griffiths – Penybont FC
It has been a difficult period at the SDM Glass Stadium, with two draws and two defeats for Penybont FC.
Rhys Griffiths’ team opened 2020 with consecutive draws, sharing the spoils with both Carmarthen Town and Caernarfon Town since New Years Day.
Striker Daniel Griffiths featured in the latter fixture, coming off the bench after 66 minutes. Griffiths also started for Penybont on December 21st, playing the full 90 minutes in a 2-0 defeat to Newtown.
THE NATIONAL LEAGUE NORTH
Jack Bodenham – Hereford FC
Defender Jack Bodenham featured for The Bulls on Boxing Day, but suffered an unfortunate 3-1 defeat away to Kidderminster Harriers. With a 2-1 victory at Edgar Street on the return fixture on New Years Day, Hereford are currently in 16th place on the National League North table.
THE NATIONAL LEAGUE
Mark Harris – Wrexham
Wales U21 international Mark Harris has returned to the Welsh capital following the conclusion of his loan spell at the Racecourse.
The young forward featured in two fixtures over the festive period, coming on as a second half substitute against both Chorley and Aldershot Town.
Harris has since returned to action for Cardiff City’s U23 Team, striking the post in a 1-0 defeat to Coventry City on January 6th.
SOUTHERN PREMIER SOUTH
James Waite, Daniel Martin and Lloyd Humphries – Weston Super-Mare
A number of young Bluebirds are playing their trade at the Optima Stadium, including two new loan additions.
Daniel Martin has continued his fine form into the festive period, playing the full ninety minutes in all four matches for Weston since December 21st - the left back was named as Super-Mare’s Man of the Match against Hendon FC on January 4th.
James Waite joined the Seagulls in October, and has impressed throughout December. Starting in all four matches, Waite scored a hat-trick in a 4-0 win over Harrow Borough, picking up the Man of the Match Award in the process.
Lloyd Humphries returned to the Optima Stadium on December 20th, having spent a loan spell with Weston in the 2016-17 season. Since his return, the midfielder has featured in two matches – both coming in the New Year. Humphries started against Truro City on January 1st, and then against Hendon three days later.
