Loan Report | 18th September 2023
We review how all of our loanees fared for their respective sides in this week’s Loan Report…
Sheyi Ojo started in KV Kortrijk’s home game against second placed Anderlecht this week, playing just over an hour with the side 2-1 up when departing.
However, the visitors levelled the score in the 90th minute to end the game at 2-2. Fellow loanee Isaak Davies was named as a substitute, however he did not feature this week.
KV Kortrijk sit 15th in the Belgian First Division, with a match against 14th placed Charleroi up next.
Joel Bagan is also playing in Belgium this season, in the second division for Zulte Waregem.
Joel came off the bench in the 72nd minute with the scores level at 2-2, and his side went on to win 4-2.
Essevee move up to second in the league on goal difference, and play Denize on Friday 22nd September.
Kilmarnock played out a 2-2 draw with Hibernian in their home fixture at Rugby Park. Full-back Tom Davies was named as a substitute for the clash but did not feature this week. Kilmarnock travel to Dundee in their next match, looking for a first win in four games.
Ollie Denham was also an unused substitute for Dundee United who were held to a 1-1 draw. Dundee remain second in the Scottish Championship, two points off top spot, and next up they travel to bottom of the league Inverness CT on 23rd September.
Eli King is starring in League Two for Morecambe this season, and played 65 minutes in a 2-1 loss to league leaders Gillingham, managed by former City boss, Neil Harris.
The result leaves Morecambe four points off the Play-Off places with a game in hand; they play Swindon Town next Saturday.
Slough Town and goalkeeper Rohan Luthra progressed in the second round qualifying for the Emirates FA Cup this week, defeating Hayes & Yeading FC, 2-0.
Rohan played the full 90 minutes and made some vital saves on his way to a clean sheet. Slough face a trip to Salisbury in the third round qualifying in two weeks’ time.
And finally, Maidenhead United were unable to find an equaliser as they fell to a 1-0 defeat in their match against Boreham Wood.
Bluebirds loanee Chanka Zimba played the full 90 minutes for the Magpies, but Tyrone Marsh’s penalty was enough for Boreham Wood to take all three points.
Maidenhead will be looking to climb up the table in their next fixture, facing bottom of the league Southend United.
