Erol Bulut spoke to the press after a tough 2-0 defeat for the Bluebirds against table topping Leicester City.
The boss began: “Our opponents this evening still have the qualities of a Premier League team. Today though, I can only speak positive things about my side.
“First half when we conceded the first goal, they put pressure on us, we lost the ball, then they scored. I am pleased with my players though. They gave everything they could."
Despite this set-back, Erol is intent on looking at the positives of the campaign thus far.
“I think we are in a positive way," he continued. "I always said we wanted to be around the play-offs. We have a lot of games to push.
“We have to look at our squad after today too. Sadly, we have another injured player, following KG's [Karlan Grant] incident. It's a hamstring, maybe a rupture. Tomorrow we will know more, when he has the scan. For QPR he won't be available, it looks like that."
The Gaffer concluded: "I think also what we see until now, what we have done from June until today, we can see the progress in our game. So of course, it doesn't change everything from bad to perfect. To be perfect we need to work a little bit more and this needs time.
I try my very best for Cardiff City and the Club. I am pleased with my players, because they gave everything they could.
“We have a quick turnaround now, before Monday's game with QPR. We want to start the year off well."
