Cardiff manager Sabri Lamouchi spoke to the press after the Bluebirds’ 1-0 win at home to Reading.

Having won their second consecutive Sky Bet Championship match following Tuesday's away victory against Birmingham City - and their first home victory since October - Lamouchi was full of praise for the Bluebirds at the end of a busy week.

“We took a lot of risks, we created a lot, I think we deserved to score before," Sabri began. "But to score before the end of the game gives you more power and energy.”

“It was a crazy game, but we controlled it. We didn’t start well in the second half, and we gave them some situations, but nothing bad happened to us thankfully.

“I’m very happy for the boys, very happy for the fans, it’s a good moment. We need to enjoy this tonight and have a rest, because three games is six days is crazy, but it’s job done.”

Romaine Sawyers has started every game under Lamouchi, and the manager has been very impressed with the midfielder.

“He’s a top player," Sabri continued. "I told him this from day one. I remember him from my previous club, and he was the best in his position along with Kalvin Phillips and Ben Watson.

“I told him that I needed him on the pitch, and I know his qualities, so I just wanted him to play and to do his job.”

With back-to-back victories secured, Lamouchi reiterated that the Bluebirds need to take each match as they come, but shared his delight at having earned his first home victory at CCS.

“When I came here I said it was an exciting challenge but not an easy one." Sabri explained. "But I said yes for two reasons:

“First, because Cardiff is an important team, and secondly for the players. They have the quality and we just needed to find the right way to play.

“It was the perfect plan and the perfect game in Birmingham, and tonight as well, and I’m very happy for them.”
